According to the reading, is it true that most people are willing to make moral compromises? Do we claim shared weakness to justify our own mediocrity? Will such a people really want philosophy, if it requires them to examine their lives? Is it not easier to follow the crowd? Why does Socrates desire a life of virtue? What does that mean? Would we put Socrates to death today?
