Is faith and reason compatible or at odds and why in this

In a carefully worded and persuasive essay, reflecting on each of the readings we have encountered, I would like you to wrestle with the question:

Is faith and reason compatible or at odds?" and, "Why?".

In this essay, I want you to begin with a strong thesis statement, followed up by your supporting premises, and ending with a compelling conclusion that supports your thesis.

You should take a definitive position here--even if your position is "one cannot know," I want you to argue persuasively as to why that is the case. In doing so, you must reference both the Armstrong and Gonzalez reading (particularly the "Who is God?" chapter and section on Creation and Science) and utilize the theological terminology we have encountered. I have also attached a rubric which will form the basis of your grade. Review this rubric carefully as you write your essay-this will determine how you will be graded.
