Topic: Introduction to the New Testament
Questions:
1. Discuss the role of Paul in shaping the theological tenets and religious practices of early Christianity. Identify one of Paul's key contributions to early Christian belief or practice and discuss its importance to the early church.
2. One aspect of human existence that all religions must deal with in some ways is suffering. As we are born into a world "always already dying," suffering at least appears to be an inevitable part of the human experience. In what ways do the books of the New Testament offer an understanding of suffering? How is suffering understood and how does it fit shape or relate to the relationship between humanity and God? (For this question, you may consider all of the books of the New Testament.)
3. Martin Luthor thought that Revelation did not truly reveal the nature of God or Christ. Discuss the ethical strengths and religious limitations of John's view of the Deity and the divine purpose.
