Mr. X relates easily to others and describes himself in positive terms (Ho=38). He believes that others can be trusted and that they have his best interests at heart; he is optimistic and does not analyze the motives of others (Hy2=71). He believes that he and others are driven by prosocial and altruistic motivations, and he portrays himself as enjoying harmonious relationships free of conflict; he may fear offending others due to the risk of rejection (CYN=40).
He sees himself as a conventional individual who abides by the rules; if he is experiencing emotional distress, it is being turned inward rather than acted out towards others (ASP=40). He is relaxed about carrying out his activities and is not concerned when others interrupt him (TPA=41). He is willing to talk about his problems, and is likely to attribute his problems to what others are doing to him (TRT=39). Mr. X is generally punctual in meeting his obligations and may worry if he is unable to do so (Pt=59). He may tend toward aesthetic interests such as art, music, and literature; he also may be rather passive and prefer to work through problems in a covert and indirect manner Mf=60). At times he has very much wanted to leave home (21T), and the members of his family and his close relatives do not get along quite well (455F).
Mr. X denies suicidal ideation (150F, 303F, 506F, 520F, 524F) and homicidal ideation (150F, 540F, 542F, 548F). He is a risk avoider who tends to be introverted and to avoid social interactions; if he abuses substances, he will prefer alcohol or sedatives (MAC-R=34). He has enjoyed using marijuana and has used alcohol excessively (487T, 264T).
