One of the most important requiremtns for the assessment is to be able to show how you can use practice to illustrate theory/apply theory to practice! Thus, practice areas must contain discussion of the cases and other practical behaviour of the states. I also provided the teacher with my first draft of the essay so please bear in mind that she is aware of my writing style and approach of thinking. The main argument of the essay is that law is not epiphenomenal after all. However, please follow the guidlines for writing of the essays at the end of the syllabus. The teacher wants us to use simple but clear sentences. Arguments must provide with both for and against examples. She does not allow to strictly adopting the information in the lecture slides to structure the essay – as this will be a form of plagiarism. Please ensure that every sentence apart from resulting arguments are referenced as the teacher is very strict on this. Also, I have written a disucssion memo on week 10 focusing on the international tribunals, while referring to them as well but please focus more on the ICJ decisions. So the essay must not just summarize and paraphraze each topic one by one but they must be viewed as one – applying theoretical arguments/theories (theories must be referred to – important) and apply this to the practice issues. Please take into account the comments made by the reacher in my draft essay that can be found in the bubbles. Footones are also important to use. Of course, reference to the thinkers of international law and relations. —> Overall, important thing to do is to analyzie theoretical topics (until week 5) and analyze how practice issues can be relevant and apply them to strngthen the arguement of the essay.
