Infectious canine hepatitis


The disease is caused by type-1 canine Adenovirus in the family Adenoviridae. The disease appears in pups as peracute, acute, and mild. The clinical signs are in acute form of the disease. The symptoms are high fever, depression, loss of appetite, vomition, bloody diarrhoea, petechial hemorrhages of the gums and jaundice. The illness is invariably fatal. Both inactivated and live viral vaccines are in use for prophylactic immunization.
