In what ways did society appear to be moving toward a more

Assignment

Some of your lesson this week discussed how the United States went from a society that helped one another in the 1960s to a society that was more self-involved in the 70s and 80s. Research this argument and reconsider your notes from this week, particularly about how the 1970s and 1980s changed how society saw itself. Then answer the following questions:

1. In what ways did society appear to be moving toward a more self-helping (rather than other-helping) society in the 1970s and 1980s? Consider college enrollments and a shift in "self-help" literature.

2. Do you think that the economy had something to do with this movement toward self-indulgence? Why or why not?

3. Were there some movements at this time that showed a society trying to help each other? What were they?

Your paper needs to answer all of these questions. Lines should be double spaced, with proper grammar and formatting. The paper needs to be at least 2 pages long (not including title page and reference page).
