Select either the qualitative or quantitative study method for this assignment. The study method should connect to the practice problem of interest identified in Topic 1.

This could be one of the previously selected articles from your literature review or a new peer-reviewed article. In an essay of 1000-1,250 words, summarize the study, explain the ways in which the findings might be used in nursing practice, and address any ethical considerations associated with the conduct of the study. Refer to the resource "Research Summary and Ethical Considerations Guidelines" for suggested headings for your paper. Prepare this assignment according to the APA guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion. ok so my topic is - Significance of daily interruption in sedation Basically what I'm explaining or writing about is how harmful it can be to leave a patient on sedation for long periods of time. and I have to find ways in which this can be reduce.

The other upload is what the teacher is looking for as the body. please review I carefully and lmk if this can be done how the assignment is being asked to be done. also attached I place pictures that I tool of rubric this is APA format

Practice problem

In today's healthcare settings such as critical units where we deal with mechanical ventilation, and sedation administration, as a nurse we do not realize how much harm can be cause with prolonged sedation administration to these critical patients. As these 6 articles will provide information about how significant it is to have daily interruptions in sedated patients. As we focus also on intermittent rather than continuousinfusion of sedative and analgesic agents which leads togreater stability in sedation levels.

Continuous infusion of sedation has been correlated with prolongation ofmechanical ventilation and hospitalization of critical care patients. As these articles will be showing a randomizedcontrolled trial, and studies reviewed duration of mechanical ventilation as well as thelength of stay in the intensive care unit and hospital stay, overall mortality and theamount of sedatives and analgesics used per day. Based on the statistical findings thenurse-implemented protocol of daily interruption of sedative infusions was neither beneficial nor harmful compared with usual practice.

These articles will show evidence based research useful in implementing ways to decrease the use of continuous sedation and implement a correct way of using sedation that will benefit the patient and not do harm. As each article will provide information for the topic chosen and it will evolve in different areas of this topic.
