An Introduction to the unemployment status in Bahrain in 2005:
Until the year 2005, the Kingdom of Bahrain was under serious unemployment problem. The IMF reports stated that the Bahrain’s unemployment rate has risen up to 15 % in the recent years and may follow the same trend. Following were the reasons that were identified,
a. Less skilled labor.
b. Presence of high numbers of sponsored non-Bahrain labor in the country.
c. Government policies and framework were hindering the money inflow in the Bahrain.
The result was increase in unemployment and it was considered as a time bomb in the newspapers of the country. The people were worried about the rising unemployment in the country. The government of Bahrain took this data seriously and started looking for solutions to the problem.
