In this film, we are met with two religions, and the ways in which faith life is being played out in a real way. Each woman is confronted with tradition, including many expectations and the anxieties that come with trying to follow a certain faith, as well as to make their families proud.
Given that we're looking at Islam in this section, how do you respond to the image of Islam, the image of this Muslim woman, compared to what you may have had in mind about this faith? Is it different, the same, or similar to what we read and see in the news? I think there are some interesting notions that are brought up by the relationship we're shown, especially given the background (both good and bad) these two religions have shared over the course of human history (Along with the third regional faith, Christianity).
