In the stop-and-wait protocol argue that the sequence

Question: In the stop-and-wait protocol, argue that the sequence number (the bit) in the ack is not needed. I.e., we do need a bit in the frame (we argued this in class), but what if the ack did not carry a bit AT ALL? Can the protocol still be made to work (with the suitable code modification of course?)

Provide solution and modify the pseudo code of the concurrent logical channel protocol so that the acknowledgements do not have a sequence number or remove the bit without causing an improper behavior of the protocol. Keep it simple and short and no copy and paste or at least help me get started and you have to satisfy the requirements specific in the instruction.
