In the search for resources for my proposed dissertation, the following terms and combinations have been used to identify these resources. The terms are, Transformational leadership, Empowerment theory, Transformational theory and empowerment, Patient Empowerment, Psychological and structural empowerment, Psychological empowerment and patient outcomes. For this week's question, I broke the queries down by themes that included theoretical foundations, Workplace ethical decision making, and ethical decision making and leadership. Several of these works will continue to support and build on the research for my dissertion.

Theoretical Foundations:

The first query conducted aligned with the theoretical foundation that will undergird my dissertation. In this case, the query conducted included (sensemaking and ethical decision making). Conducting a search trying to identify the best literature for my topic of interest is not an easy task. Four words that I have utilized in identifying relevant literature for my dissertation topic are, cultural competency, leadership, healthcare, and Latinos. As I combined these words to make a search I'm able to generate many articles and studies that could potentially be good sources for my study. Utilizing the GCU library has been a very resourceful tool, however I understand that in order to conduct a more comprehensive study and identify the latest literature on my topic I will need to utilize other academic search engines and databases. Yielding valid academic sources utilizing the GCU library was not an easy task. Once you begin to use the filters and narrowing the search, the amounts of studies begin to dwindle to a few. Therefore, its important to combine key words to generate different searches and narrowing the literature that will useful to my dissertation topic.
