In the movie, the director uses the premise concept in an example. When Margaret was Andrew's boss, she treated Andrew horribly but when they got to communicate effectively their relationship became stabled. Margaret and Andrew agree to make a plan that benefit both individuals as Margaret is getting her visa to stay in the United States and Andrew will get promote to an upper position. On the other hand, an example for cost is when Margaret and Andrew have to lie to the government and to everyone to stay in the country. When Margaret and Andrew got to Alaska they did not know their family were planning an engagement celebration surprise for them. During the surprise engagement Andrew and Margate were pressure to tell everyone how they met and to kiss in front of everyone. However, for reward an example is a scene where Margaret and Andrew were fighting about telling the truth to the family because she feels horribly about the situation and while Andrew was making a turn Margaret fell down to the ocean and Andrew jump to the ocean and rescue her and warp a towel around her and they almost kiss. For comparison Level, in the middle of their relationship, Margaret does not reciprocate when Andrew shows his love to her and both agrees to continue lying to his family since he loves her. The last concept is comparison level alternative. An example of it is found when Margaret feels powerful being the boss in the office and treat Andrew as a result their relationship is in bad terms. In the movie, the director use examples to illustrate a vision about how having a bad communication can lead to rewards and cost in a relationship.
