In the earlier section we looked at using factoring & the square root property to solve out quadratic equations. The problem is that both of these methods will not always work. Not every quadratic is factorable & not every quadratic is in the form needed for the square root property.

Now it is time to begin looking into methods which will work for all quadratic equations.  Thus, in this section we will look at completing the square & the quadratic formula for solving out the quadratic equation,

                                           ax2 + bx + c = 0                         a ≠ 0
