You will choose a well-known leader and carefully examine how leadership is demonstrated by this leader of your choice. A well-known leader in this context refers to a leader who has demonstrated leadership qualities through their behaviour and whom you may have observed or followed for a long time. A well-known leader is also someone who has inspired and energised you and their followers through the media, internet, newspapers and on YouTube.

In demonstrating your knowledge and understanding of leadership, you will need to:

 

• Identify this leader's traits, motives and characteristics

• Compare and contrast the different theoretical perspectives on the leaders' traits/characteristics and motives as evidenced in the literature

 

• Support your arguments with evidence of wider reading. It is expected that your research evidence will include a minimum of seven (7) refereed/peer-reviewed journal articles. You could use related chapters from your eText as a foundation for preparing this assignment.
