In BPTI the phenylalanine has five aromatic resonances of equal intensity. However after incubation in 6 M urea the same Phe has three resonances, one of which has half the integrated area of each of the others which have the same area. Define these two spectra and the differences between them. As well Sketch the spectrum expected for this side chain in the denatured protein where at H(delta)=7.05, H(epsilon)1= 7.08, H(zeta)1= 7.00 ppm.
