Read the McCreary v. ACLU (https://content.grantham.edu/at/CJ425/McCreary_v._ACLU.pdf) (2005) (addressed the issue of the display of the Ten Commandments in public buildings) and the Lemon v. Kurtzman (https://content.grantham.edu/at/CJ425/Lemon_v._Kurtzman__1971_.pdf) (1971) (established a 3-prong test to strike a balance between establishment of religion and freedom of religion).

In a 2-3-page paper analyze the two cases that you read and tell me your thoughts on how displays or practices of religious items or practices on public property or by public officials should be handled? How should they be handled in each of the following situations?
Government and public buildings display the Ten Commandments
Public school children say the pledge of allegiance
Ceremonial swearing in of elected officials and judges using a bible
Courts swearing in a witness with "so help you God"
Money and coins printed with "In God We Trust"
