An extremely rough surface appears uniformly bright from each viewing direction Q the intensity of reflected light is identical in all directions therefore generate diffuse reflection that are constant over each surface in a scene, independent of the viewing direction. The fractional amount of the incident light which is diffusely reflected can be set for all surfaces along with parameter Kd . Kd →diffuse reflection coefficient or diffuse reflectivity.
0 ≤ Kd ≤ 1(Kd → property of material).
Kd = 1 for extremely reflective surfaces reflecting complete light. Kd = 0 for surfaces which absorb light fully.
