Discuss the importance of educational philosophy. As noted in the lecture, our two textbooks take a somewhat different approach to educational philosophy. As you are discussing the impact of educational philosophy keep in mind that whatever name the philosophy has, it will impact the resulting curriculum. Keep in mind that this assignment is interested in that impact.

  • Discuss the various philosophies, differences in those philosophies as related to education, and their impact on curriculum theory and design.
  • Share your reaction to the Orstein and Hunkins (2015) comment that "curriculum workers who lack a coherent philosophy can easily lack clarity and direction"
