Implemented a company-wide diversity

Assignment task:

Policy CAU has recently created and implemented a company-wide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policy for all of its employees. The specifics (which come directly from the policy) are as follows: 1. Employees are to demonstrate respect, compassion and collaboration with all other individuals. 2. Employees are to respect and honour diversity and differences among all other individuals. 3. Employees are to promote and abide by all rules and procedures that encourage inclusion and fairness within the organization. 4. Employees are to be aware of any unconscious bias that they, or others may feel. Question Andrew is a mechanic who has been working at CAU for 15 years, one of the longest employment terms within the company. Andrew is extremely knowledgeable about cars but he is very opinionated; if he doesn't like something, he will tell you, and Andrew definitely doesn't like this DEI policy. CAU recently hired a new mechanic, Maria. Maria is very qualified and has several years of experience and knowledge but Andrew refuses to see that. He is angry that she was selected for the job over other male candidates, and is sure that it is only because of "this stupid DEI policy". As a result of this, Andrew is completely ignoring Maria and is trying to persuade the other mechanics to exclude her from conversations and to make her feel very unwelcome at the workplace.
