Overview
This assignment allows each student to better understand American Government through researching its chief executive. To effectively participate in the political process (elections), citizens must first understand how their government is structured and its leadership.
Instructions
Research your assigned U.S. President and in three to five pages, not including the title, abstract Executive summary) and reference pages. The entire paper should be in APA format.
A minimum of five sources should be used/referenced, with one a hardback book. Your paper should include an introduction, discussion and conclusion.
Your analysis should include:
I. Overview of the individual (POTUS)
a. Biography (parents, birthplace, siblings...)
b. Education and careers
c. Experience is state and national politics
d. Relationship with Congress
e. Impact of the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) on his presidency
f. Political defeats and victories
g. Major achievements as POTUS (domestic and foreign)
h. Major problems as POTUS (domestic and foreign)
i. Activities after the presidency
j. Public opinion
k. Historians view of the presidency
2. The role of the First Lady (FLOTUS) during his administration.
3. Your subjective opinion of your assigned POTUS.
