Problem: Imagining the world in 2100 without significant reductions in the greenhouse gas emissions creates a troubling outlook for both the environment and the society. Scientists had warned that we could see more frequent and more intense of heat waves, stronger storms, rising sea levels, and major disruptions to ecosystem and agriculture. Many of the cities on the coast side might have experienced things like chronic flooding, while other regions could be hard to live in due to extreme temperatures, droughts, and shortage of water. Even though new technologies will play an important role in addressing climate change, they cannot solve the issue by themselves. Renewable energy, electric vehicles, and carbon capture systems show great promises, still they must be paired with meaningful changes in the human behavior. Without the individuals choosing sustainable habits such as lowering the use of energy, consumption reduction, and supporting climate friendly policies technology will not be able to offset the rising of the emissions.
