The aim of this Assessment is to help you enhance your experience in the analysis and interpretation of epidemiological data and methods commonly used in Disease Prevention and Control.
You will be challenged with a variety of tasks. Some include the critical examination of maps used to illustrate the spatial patterning of diseases. Other tasks require a similar level of interpretation, but also some manipulation of data and basic descriptive analysis (e.g. sketching of simple graphs). You will need to be able to write down your interpretation concisely and accurately, and cite any references which you have used while forming your judgements - just as you will be expected to do so in a professional environment.
you will be assessed on whether you manage to obtain the correct answer to each question. However, it is very important to show the process of how you get the answers and not just the result.
In other words, please ensure that you report not only the answer to each question, but also carefully document the decisions you made and evidence you found useful or rejected in order to arrive at your answers. You only have 1000 words to do this, so be concise and to the point (another very useful skill). The 1000 words includes all citations within the text, but does not include the reference list. I encourage you to draw evidence only from journal articles (the highest calibre of published evidence) or recently published books.
