Problem:
For this week, since there is so much to cover in the Learning Module, I would like for us to work together to pull out the main points from the readings and activities on each of the large and diverse groups presented. Let's use this discussion to be almost a Wiki for the main issues facing these populations and strategies to provide more humble/competent care.
Please post one main point of interest from the readings, videos, and websites for each population:
1) Native Americans/Alaskan Natives
2) Asian Americans
3) Black/African Americans.
This is relatively open, but be sure to think about 1) the main health issues facing these populations; 2) how and why history is important when understanding health and illness for these populations, and; 3) how can we better serve these populations? You can post about something that surprised you, or something that you found challenging. It is up to you! We will use this as a space to collaborate and learn all the information presented.
