Illustrate how climate change will affect the future

Problem:

We often talk about how climate change will affect the future, but how often do we stop to consider who it will affect and how? In other words, even while we talk about rising temperatures or sea levels, we rarely pause to think about the thoughts and feelings of those who will experience these occurrences (even when we will be experiencing these thing ourselves!).

This assignment is an opportunity to form connections across time. You will write a letter to the future telling your own climate story up to this point. What have been the key moments that you have experienced which have shaped your perspective? Have you noticed shifts in weather? Have you experienced severe storms? In what unexpected ways have you noticed the climate changing (birds? flowers? weather?)? ....or have  you have noticed it changing at all?

Once you've told your future readers your climate story, make some predictions about what they are experiencing. Be sure to include some potential positive outcomes - what do you hope this future world is like? How might future populations successfully mitigate and adapt to climate change? Remember, this is a letter so you can ask your questions - what do you want to know about the world they inhabit?

Your letter should be 1 to 3 pages in length. Need Assignment Help?
