Assignment Task Details: A list of formulae and statistical tables will be provided. Students should bring a 10 digit non-programmable calculator to the exam. No other supporting aids or materials will be permitted.
Assignment Type: Computer assignment analysis
Assignment Purpose: To allow students to demonstrate an understanding of statistical analysis and the ability to summarize and manipulate sample data, make basic statistical inferences and interpret the results in a business context. This assessment contributes to learning outcome a, b, c and d.
Task Details: Each individual student will be provided with their own unique dataset and they will have to summarize the dataset using PivotTable and Scatter plot command using Microsoft Excel.
Students will also download questions about their summaries from Moodle. Students will also download a sample report and questions about the sample report from Moodle. The questions will check that students can make basic inferences, check they understand how to use statistics in business and know how to write a report using statistics.
