Problem: What would happen in an auditor knows of an illegal act being done by a company but fail to notify the company or the proper boards? Would the company be fined for their part and would the auditor be fined or fired? Sometimes an auditor misses things even though it is their job to be thorough and exact when conducting an audit. I just wonder what the proper procedure would be if that were to happen.
