Identity plays an important role in people's professions. In fact, people tend to derive a great deal of their identity from what they do. When some professions are identified as male and others as female, it becomes difficult for members of the minority to enter and stay in the professions, particularly because of the pressures of identity. This Application will help you to explore this issue further.

- How would you imagine masculinity is acted out in the ICT workplace?
- How can theories of gender be used to understand women's experience?
- How can theories of gender be used to understand the experience of men (conforming to a masculine identity and that of minority groups)?
