Homework: Addressing Organizational Challenges as a Manager
Overview
Using the company and department (TESLA) that you chose for the Getting to Know the Organization homework, examine the industry in which the entity operates and determine possible solutions for organizational challenges related to external factors. Use any or all of the following resources to conduct research on the company:
1. The company website.
2. Public filings in the Securities and Exchange Commission EDGAR database.

Write a 5-page report in which you do the following:
1. Construct an External Factor Evaluation matrix (example provided below) to analyze the external factors related to the company by researching at least four items from the external environment (for example, economic, social, cultural, demographic, environmental, political, governmental, legal, technological, and competitive environments). Weigh and rate each item and then calculate the total weighted score. Cite sources for each item.
2. Examine the opportunities for and threats to this company and determine the impact of each of the identified opportunities and threats. Consider global opportunities and threats if relevant to the company.
3. Identify what you consider to be the greatest external threat to and opportunity for this company. Justify your selections.
4. Outline the recommended management actions for your chosen department to help your company mitigate the identified threat and take advantage of the opportunity. Justify your recommendations.
5. Identify ethical considerations and/or challenges of your recommendations made above.

1. The answer must be double spaced, typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
