Several years ago, Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, proposed the "Texas Plan" to "restore the Rule of Law and return the Constitution to its intended purpose." Read the press release for the Texas Plan, along with an update on the Plan following the election of Donald Trump, to address the following questions:
• Identify two of Abbott's proposed constitutional amendments and explain why Abbott believes these are necessary. Do you believe these changes are necessary? Why or why not?
• Some may argue that Abbott's "Texas Plan" seeks to bring in some elements of the Articles of Confederation, in terms of how the states relate to the national government. Identify how Abbott's plan is, or is not, similar to the Articles of Confederation, in your opinion. Explain.
