Identify three take-away elements of the course that added

Course Textbook:

Goldstein, E.B. (2017) Sensation and Perception. 10th edition. California: Cengage.

This forum should be 400 words.

By now you've probably noticed in your assigned readings that the study of sensation and perception focuses on things you may have experienced but never given any thought to--for example, the "Purkinje shift".

We don't think much about these phenomena because our world is full of them, and if we had to be conscious of every sensation and its accompanying perception that we ever experienced our brains would have little time for anything else (!) but research scientists have studied them in detail.

This leaves us with the question--do these interesting and sometimes odd things matter? The answer is yes, but why and how varies depending on the particular phenomenon. There are real-life phenomena associated with everything discussed in our readings and dialoguing about them can bring theory and fact to life.

Question:

Identify three "take-away" elements of the course that added to your understanding of human perception and that you believe will serve you well in the future and explain why.

A list and descriptions of textbook chapter topics cannot be submitted for this assignment; neither can statements of "Nothing" or "I don't know" or "I can't name three".

Be thorough, thoughtful and focused in this part of your post. Think about what stood out to you during the 8 weeks and why it is significant enough for you to want to mention it here..

Then, describe the most meaningful three things you gained from participating in the weekly course discussions.

Both parts are graded for substance and careful thought. This is a time to share with each other what you experienced via participation during the course in our learning community.
