• Adam wants to sell his motor car. He writes to his friend Chantelle and offers to sell it to her for £5000. Chantelle says she will think about it. Three days later, Chantelle telephones Adam and offers £4000 for the car. Adam refuses to sell for this price. One week later Chantelle changes her mind and writes to Adam agreeing to purchase the car for £5000. Adam has now found another buyer for the car and refuses to sell to Chantelle. Discuss the relevant rules on the formation of a contract and advise Adam on whether or not there is a valid contract between himself and Chantelle. (Marked out of 100)
