Assignment
The assignment is an analysis of a spoken act. It should be analyzed taking into consideration segmental features and suprasegmental features. That means the answer should go from segmental analysis to suprasegmental analysis. Under Segmental analysis word stress, phonemes and under Supra segmental analysis sentence stress and intonation should be discussed. and for the pedagogical grammar part you have to write separately about the topic explicit/implicit instruction. I have attached in a different document the references of the audios and you can choose any audio from them and you have to analyze that one. The recording should be transcripted using the IPA symbols separately.
In the analysis of the spoken act,
1. Identify 'some' areas of control (good language control) such as mispronunciation and problems with vowels
2. Areas lack of control
- phonemes (individual sounds)- consonant sounds and vowel sounds-IPA chart and IPA symbols
- word stress
- sentence stress
- intonation
- connected speech.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
