Discussion post 1:

Cross-cultural research continues to be one of the most valuable ways to understand human behavior in a globalized world. When thinking about research designs, both small-scale and large-scale studies play important roles. Studies that compare two or three countries often provide more depth because researchers can focus closely on cultural details. These designs allow scholars to carefully examine differences and similarities, often using methods such as interviews, surveys, and case studies that capture the lived experiences of participants. The limitation, however, is that results may not always generalize beyond the specific countries included.

By contrast, studies involving 10 or more countries bring breadth and the ability to identify patterns across a wide range of cultural contexts. These studies are powerful because they can reveal which findings may be universal and which are culturally specific. The challenge, though, is that with so many countries, researchers may have to simplify variables or overlook important cultural nuances.

Overall, both types of studies are valuable in advancing cross-cultural research. Smaller studies provide depth and cultural richness, while larger studies provide scope and generalizability. The most meaningful progress likely comes when both approaches are used together-small studies generate detailed insights, and large studies test whether these insights hold true across diverse settings. This balance ensures that cross-cultural psychology remains both inclusive and accurate. Need Assignment Help?

Discussion post 2:

The awareness to build and include cross-cultural research is to open research into a broad spectrum of multiculturism for researchers to include methods for research that may be variable, adequate, appropriate and ethical. Keith, K. D. (2019).

A large-scale survey & Meta- Analyses would have one of the highest impacts and values in cross-cultural research for its ability to provide broad, generalizable insights across 10 or more cultures. An Indigenous studies refer to a culture specific mid-level impact building theories on 2-3 cultures specifically, which may assist in avoiding ethnocentrism.

Advantages of studies with 3 or fewer countries allow for more depth and detailed research, clearer contrasts for compatibility and theory testing. Disadvantages would be limited generalizability or over generalizing also adopted cultural bias.

Compared to studies with 10 or more countries' advantages consist of variation across cultures, findings can be compared or tested through cross validation, and stronger pattern detection general identification vs. culture specific. Disadvantages include high cost to collect data, less depth leading to superficiality risks, translation of surveys adequately translated into appropriate context.
