 This activity allows students to explore ways from their own lives that have relevance to CBT use.

Part A: Please think of a stressful situation you have recently experienced. Then, identify possible maladaptive or unrealistic thoughts that you associated with the event. PLEASE DO NOT INDICATE THAT YOU HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANY STRESSFUL EVENTS OR MALADAPTIVE THOUGHTS! This would not be likely; it's typical that we all experience some stressful events in life.

Part B: How can you modify or change those negative thoughts? What "reframe" can you use to change the way you see the situation? Are there any positive sides/perspectives to your experience? What can you say to yourself to change the way you allow the event to affect you
