Identify hardware required for your system to function

Assignment- Backup Systems

Every year hundreds of reported injuries and deaths occur due to vehicles backing up and colliding with pedestrians. Typically, these pedestrians [1] are either small children or elderly. These accidents are often extraordinarily traumatic (as the driver may know the victim quite well). There is a large push from the government [3] and the automotive industry to develop systems that will prevent these accidents from occurring.

Your assignment is to work with a partner to flesh out a set of requirements for an "ideal" Pedestrian Backup System. There should be sufficient details to enable a requirements analyst to create a requirements document. As such, you will need to review the current literature for details on such a system.

Please create a document that describes both functional and non-functional require- ments for such a system, including a relevant introduction for each section.

The same writing requirements apply as before (single-spaced, 11-point font, 1-inch margins, no spelling or grammatical errors). Turn in one copy that has both of your names on it.

Your requirements must cover the following points

1. General system overview (what it is and how does it work - this part can be more elaborate in describing the overall functionality and objectives of the system).

2. Hardware required for your system to function.

3. Software required for your system to function.

4. Required quality measures, including performance requirements.

5. Find a minimum of 2 relevant sources (not included in the bibliog- raphy below) that provide additional information that can be used to add to the list of requirements (and be sure to cite them in the bibligraphy).

You will be evaluated on the following points:

Are your requirements clear and concise? A requirement should be able to stand on its own. Verboseness is not helpful in writing requirements!

• Do you have any superfluous or conflicting requirements?
• Have you addressed all of the technical points necessary?
• Does each paragraph have a thesis sentence with the paragraph body containing supporting text?
• Has the document been thoroughly proofread and typos eliminated?
