Identify existing gaps in the current knowledge

Problem

Directions for Future Research

Students can identify existing gaps in the current knowledge of cross-cultural counselling theory and practice related to counselling refugees in canada and provide an agenda for future research.

My answer:

Cross-cultural counselling is a new field of research, and there is a lack of empirical evidence to support its efficacy, and for Syrian refugees in Canada as they are still new in Canada Aldiabat et al. (2021). In order for cross-cultural counselling to be taken seriously, especially for Syrian refugees in Canada as a field of study and practice, it is essential that research be organized in order to build an evidence base. Additionally, research in this area is important to be able to identify gaps in current knowledge and information and understand what are missing to provide the refugees the best quality of service.

Aldiabat et al. (2021) suggested that research is needed to determine the most effective and practical method for integrating Syrian refugees and thrive in Canada. There is a shortage in knowledge about the Syrian refugees, few information can be found in written articles or through studies, most of information can be found in the newspaper and government reports (Aliabat et al., 2021). Moreover, there is limited information about Syrians traditions and culture for counsellor to create the best treatment plan and interventions. Counsellors need to know more about barriers other than language that may not let them begin their mental health treatments.

What do you think about my answer as I feel stuck and lost?
