Discussion Post: Ethics in Research
The National Organization for Human Services states in STANDARD 32:
"Human service professionals conduct research that adheres to all ethical principles, institutional standards, and scientific rigor. Such research takes into consideration cross-cultural bias and is reported in a manner that addressed any limitations."
Analyze this statement in reference to your proposal.
1) Discuss how ethical principles (that is, respect for persons, beneficence, and justice) relate to your proposal. Refer to the Belmont Report.
2) Summarize institutional standards which relate to your proposal (that is, Institutional Review Board [IRB], agency standards, practice standards).
3) Identify cross-cultural bias and unequal power with study participants that may impact your proposal.
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
