Reemployment of Previously Retired Individuals - There is concern about there not being enough skilled employees to fill vacancies as the baby boomers retire. Identify the collective agreement implications of employees returning to the workplace after already having retired.
The report should be page numbered and follow the general format laid out in the marking guide.
Your submission MUST outline how you arrived at your recommendation and your thoughts for and against any options or recommendations (see marking guide in Moodle)
a) Identify leading [public or private sector] organizations currently utilizing previously retired employees.
b) Identify any pension restrictions that might apply.
c) What normal collective agreement articles might be impacted and what amendments need to be made to them?
d) What are the cost/benefit issues for both the employer and the employee?
e) Is this a smart HR approach?
f) Include language for the collective agreement that provides for re-employment and addresses both rights and processes.
