1. Identify a significant intelligence failure or success from 1940 to 1946 that played a role in changing the American mindset to accept a permanent Intelligence Community. Did this failure or success result in a positive or negative effect? Who was influenced more by this event, the populace, the federal government, or the military? Lastly, even with the change from the event, what challenges did those that supported a permanent IC face?
2. Do you believe the current structure of the IC is, or is not, capable of providing the necessary intelligence support to national security? Also, you may choose a third positron, is the IC too large, which creates redundancy or missed opportunities in providing intelligence support to national security?
