Assignment: Accounting Group Project
1) Identify a public company of interest, AMAZON. Locate and review closely the company's most recent Annual Report or Form 10-K (including the MD&A and the notes to the financial statements) and respond to the requirements below.
2) Discuss the opinions of company management and the external auditors regarding the company's internal controls (as often described in the MD&A / notes to the financial statements and the independent auditor's report), including controls over financial reporting and disclosure controls.
3) Describe briefly the long-lived assets (PP&E, intangibles, and/or natural resource assets) in use by the company and any related accounting issues; also identify the depreciation / amortization / depletion method(s) used along with notable related estimates (such as useful lives).
The response should include a reference list. Double-space, using Times New Roman 12 pnt font, one-inch margins, and APA style of writing and citations.
