Objective:
Pretend you are part of a top management team or a consulting firm that has been tasked with analyzing a company and finding solutions to make improvements. Your team needs to demonstrate that you can conduct business analysis on a company using the tools from class and provide suggestions for improving the company. Each chapter should be a new tool which would mean that you need to incorporate each chapter into your analysis, identify a problem within the company which needs improving and provides 2-3 solutions for the company. If it is something that will be costly, then show me how you plan to have funds to do so.
Task:
A. Each team is expected to analyze a publicly-traded Fortune 500 company (Toyota) like the cases used in class and apply some of the tools we have discussed in class (e.g. external analysis, internal analysis, porter's 5 forces, etc). Your team will also want to identify an issue that the company has, provide at least 2-3 solutions to the problem, and present your company in a PowerPoint presentation to the class.
B. This involves:
a. Developing a brief PowerPoint of 10 to 12 slides. The presentation will be 15-20 minutes total.
b. Providing a business analysis using the topics for analysis in class.
c. Giving a brief overview of the company (may want to add a video link)
d. Provide the mission and vision statement
e. Do an internal and external analysis using such things as ( SWOT, VRIN, porter's 5 forces, PESTEL, etc. ).
f. Provide business and corporate level strategy
g. May want to also apply one other topic as discussed in the modules
h. Identify a problem the company has or a specific event or issue they are dealing with and provide 2-3 possible solutions or future directions for the company under study. The objective is to demonstrate the ability to apply some of the tools used in class and apply them to decision making.
Format your homework according to the give formatting requirements:
a. The answer must be double spaced, typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
b. The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the course title, the student's name, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
c. Also include a reference page. The references and Citations should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
