1. Identify a characteristic about a population that you would be interested in studying. For example, you may be interested in studying the amount of time college students spend working.
2. Identify the population that your sample will represent.
3. Describe, using terminology found in chapter 1 of your text, the method you would use to take a sample from your identified population. There are multiple sampling methods. Which method did you choose? Why do you feel this method is appropriate for your study?
4. Describe any potential pitfalls that you anticipate in conducting your survey.
