1. Identify 5 hazards in your home (apartment, residence etc.) or associated with a process or system in your field of study. Suggest possible scenarios/consequences of how each of these hazards could propagate into an accident. What protection has been created for the public (e.g., laws, regulations, standards) to reduce these hazards?
What responsibility does the home owner or company have to take with regard to these hazards?
2. In class, the following were given as examples of events that have led to great emphasis being put on the need for risk assessment and management - Bhopal disaster and the MK airlines crash.
You will find a file on the Chernobyl nuclear accident. Write a brief description of the nature of the event. Describe the risks associated with the event you have chosen. Please use point form in your answer- no long essays. You can choose another industrial disaster if you so wish for this exercise.
