1. Identification with a community is an essential part of the Western religious traditions. Discuss the ways that Judaism, Christianity, and Islam think of how an individual is related to their respective religious communities. Be specific about any rituals or actions which mark entry or acceptance into the community of believers for each of these religions. How is the community of believers defined and thought of in these traditions? And how does one become a Jew, a Christian, or a Muslim?
2. Each of the three religious traditions we have studied are monotheistic. Do you think that they all worship the same God? Discuss the differences and similarities you see in how these traditions conceive of and worship God. Give specific examples of worship practices or beliefs present in each tradition to support what you say.
