Question 1: Within the first few verses of Genesis (1:26), we discover the statement "Let us make humankind in our image and after our likeness." According to your textbook, this has garnered much attention and as such, much deliberation. Judaism requires a monotheistic God but the personal pronouns "us" and "our" create a problem for the idea of monotheism. Do you believe the God of Judaism is monotheistic? Why do you believe the way you do? If so, how do you respond to the personal pronouns used within the text? If you believe the God of Judaism is polytheistic, how do you determine to construct your argument?
