Question: I want you to select a social, political, or economic issue you feel strongly about; then develop a strategy how to build support around your issue. There are many issues you can chose to advocate for or against (e.g., school choice, human rights, childhood poverty, portrayal of women in the media, animal rights, rising college tuition, availability of school loans,racial inequality, the abolition of the electoral college, etc.). How would you go about forming an interest group around your issue (think about use of media, social media, if possible, incorporate lessons learned from our section on the media)? How can you gain supporters of your cause (grassroots mobilization)? And how about funding? What kind of lobbying strategies should your group engage in? Be creative and as specific as possible.
