I formulate the null and alternative hypothesis to fruitcos

Fruitco is an organisation that distributes and markets citrus products throughout the country. It believes that the general awareness of the nutritional value of citrus products is low amongst consumers. Fruitco's current view is that no more than 15% of consumers have a high level of awareness and understanding of the health benefits of consuming citrus products regularly.

Before conducting a national awareness campaign, Fruitco ran a pilot study amongst a random sample of 170 consumers to gauge their level of awareness of the nutritional value of citrus products. Their awareness responses were classified as low, moderate or high.

(a) Use the PivotTable option in the Data tab to produce a frequency table (one- pivot table) of the awareness levels of the nutritional value of citrus products. Then construct a bar chart of these awareness levels using the Column option in the Insert > Chart tab. Interpret the summary statistics findings.

(b) Fruitco will launch a national awareness campaign if there is sufficient sample evidence that the level of high consumer awareness is no more than 15% amongst all consumers. Should Fruitco launch a national awareness campaign?

(i) Formulate the null and alternative hypothesis to Fruitco's management question.

(ii) Conduct a hypothesis test for a single proportion at the 1% level of significance.

(iii) What recommendation would you make to the Fruitco management? Justify.
