I am writing about an argumentative essay . I am having trouble to choose the argumentative topic in Once Upon A time by Nadine Gordimer. Pls help me out, here it is my instructor's instructions for essay-Essay #4 is an argumentative essay. Pick one topic from below and write a 5 paragraph essay arguing for or against the topic. Remember to clearly state your opinion/side in the Level 3 Thesis, and to organize your body paragraphs well. You will also need to include a newspaper article (it can be from the USA Today Newspaper, or you can get it from the Library Database ) as part of your evidence. This does NOT need to be a full body paragraph; you will just use it as evidence somewhere within your essay. Additionally, you will need to include a rebuttal, where you acknowledge the other side and then shoot it down by giving your side's strong points to override their weak ideas. Lastly, your BP#3 will need to include a PERSONAL EXAMPLE to help support your argument. Make sure to use emotions to try to sway the reader to your side. Topic #1: Argue for or against the parents' decision to fortify their house and protect their little boy from the outside ("Once Upon a Time"). Topic #2: Argue for or against Mama's decision to give the quilt to Maggie instead of Dee, AKA Wangero ("Everyday Use"). Hints for Topic #1: Don't just talk about how the boy died and do not just use his death as your main point. Think deeper!
