Hypothesis test of the claim

A 0.05 significance level is used for a hypothesis test of the claim that when parents use the XSORT method of gender selection, the proportion of baby girls is different from 0.05. Assume that the sample data consist of 55 girls in 100 births, so the sample statistic of .55 results in a z-score that is 1.00 standard deviation above 0.

1, Identify the null hypothesis and the alternative hypothesis. I believe that this is H0=.05 H1 not equal to .05

2. What is the value of \(\alpha\) ? I know this is .05

3. What is the sampling distribution of the sample statistic? Why is this normal distributionn?

4. Is the test two tailed, left tailed, or right tailed? (I understand this.)

5. What is the value of the test statistic? (is it +1 because of the last part of information in the problem?)

6. What is the p value? (What formula was used to come up with 0.15866?)

7. What is the critical value? (1-.05 confidence level =.95)

8. What is the area of the critical region? I don't know how to determine this please explain.
